Cannon chainsaw bars are built in Canada for operators who rely on their saws every day and need equipment that lasts. These bars are designed for strength, accuracy, and long service life in demanding cutting conditions.

Every Cannon bar starts with high-grade, custom-formulated steel containing added chromium for wear resistance and molybdenum for strength. The steel is water jet cut to avoid heat-affected zones, then heat treated, oil quenched, and tempered to achieve the right balance of toughness, flexibility, and durability.

After hardening, the bars are straightened, surface ground, and CNC machined with extremely tight tolerances. Each bar is then hand-finished with Cannon’s precision-honed groove, kept straight and centred to within 0.003". This attention to detail improves chain tracking, reduces wear, and delivers cleaner, straighter cuts.

The rails are flame hardened using Cannon’s proprietary process, which penetrates deeper than standard induction hardening and results in significantly longer rail life. Longer bars are heel pressed and stress relieved to reduce vibration and prevent premature cracking.
