Why Choose Maya Endurance?
Maya Endurance is ideal for jobs where carbide edge retention keeps you cutting longer:
- Hardwood firewood: Ironbark, Box and Red Gum.
- Gritty timber: Dirty bark and ground-stored logs.
- Property clean-up: Burnt timber, stump wood and storm-fallen branches.
Endurance Cutter Technology
Precision-Brazed Tungsten Carbide
Narrow-profile tungsten-carbide inserts feature a semi-chisel-style cutting edge and are precision brazed into place. Their specialised profile supports efficient cutting, excellent edge retention and lasting brazed-joint performance.
Reduced-Kickback Design
Specially shaped bumper drive links encourage smooth cutter entry and are designed to help manage vibration and kickback potential during cutting.
Setup, Lubrication & Run-In
Good preparation helps the new chain settle smoothly onto the bar and sprocket.
- Thoroughly lubricate the chain before fitting.
- Use quality high-tack bar-and-chain oil ISO VG 150 is our preferred grade.
- Confirm generous oil delivery and correct tension before cutting.
- Check tension regularly during initial use, adjust as require to keep drive links firm in the bar groove .
Proper lubrication and chain tension help maintain smooth travel and dependable service life.
Sharpening & Maintenance
Preferred Method: Diamond Disc Sharpening
Machine sharpening with a 3.2 mm diamond grinding disc is our preferred method for consistent cutter angles and a clean carbide cutting edge. Our resin-bonded discs use 150 Âĩm diamond abrasive. Choose the disc diameter and bore that suit your sharpening machine.

Diamond Hand Filing
A 4.0 mm diamond hand file is suitable for this 3/8LP Endurance chain. Thoroughly clean and degrease the chain before filing, removing oil from the cutters, then allow it to dry. This keeps the diamond abrasive clear and working efficiently. Secure the chain and follow the existing cutter angle using light, even strokes.

Maintain the recommended setting with a depth-gauge guide. Use a suitable flat file to keep the steel depth gauges correctly set.
Need Help Choosing?
3/8LP vs Regular 3/8âŗ Chain
Although both share the same nominal 3/8âŗ pitch measurement, they have different cutter and drive-link profiles and are not interchangeable.
- 3/8LP (Low Profile): A smaller, lower-profile chain generally used on lightweight petrol chainsaws, often under 35 cc, and some battery-powered saws.
- Regular 3/8âŗ: Larger cutters and deeper drive links, typically fitted to larger chainsaws.
Your chain must match the guide bar and drive sprocket. Read our guide to chain pitch and gauge â
For the correct loop length, check your guide bar's gauge and count the drive links on your existing chain, then choose the matching option.
