Maya D4S Carbide-Tipped Chainsaw Chain – .404" Pitch x .080" Gauge (100ft Roll)

Carbide-tipped saw chains are engineered for extended cutting edge life, reducing the need for frequent sharpening. On average, carbide chains can cut 3–4 times more wood per sharpen compared to standard steel chains, making them ideal for demanding and abrasive cutting environments.

Key Features:

  • Carbide-Tipped Cutters – Optimised for medium cutting speed with long-lasting performance in both soft and hardwood species.
  • Versatile Cutting Applications – Performs best in green timber or dry wood with more than 15% moisture content. Also suitable for dirty, treated, or burnt wood, including stumping and demolition work.
  • Extreme Durability – Made from tungsten carbide, a compound nearly twice the density of steel. Requires sharpening with diamond-coated files or discs only.
  • Supplied with joiner links – Presets and tie-straps included for easy assembly.
  • Semi-Chisel Profile – Designed for smoother cutting in abrasive conditions.

Specifications:

Important Usage Notes:

  • Do Not Run Dull: Carbide chains must always be kept sharp. Running a dull carbide chain increases impact force, which can lead to tip breakage or full cutter separation. Using standard sharpening files or discs will damage the cutter — use only diamond tools for sharpening carbide. Regular inspection and maintenance are essential for safe operation and to maximise chain life.
  • Not for Handheld Use: Maya D4S is intended for use on mechanical processing equipment only. Its aggressive cutter design is not suitable for handheld chainsaws. Improper use or equipment mismatch can result in chain failure or thrown fragments. Use only on properly guarded machinery.
