Maya 3/8" Full-Chisel Pro-Tipped Carbide Chainsaw Chain (.050" .058" .063")

Built for long life and consistent performance, the Maya Full-Chisel Tipped Carbide Chain is designed for abrasive or dirty timber where conventional chains dull quickly. Available in .050", .058", and .063" gauge options, each loop features brazed tungsten carbide-tipped full chisel cutters for maximum wear resistance and reduced sharpening frequency.

The tungsten carbide tip, fused to the leading edge of each cutter, is nearly twice as dense as steel and significantly more wear-resistant—delivering 3–4× longer cutting life between sharpening. Ideal for firewood, storm debris, dirty logs, and forestry cleanup—where downtime for sharpening is not an option.

Key Features:

  • Chain Type: Full-Chisel Tungsten Carbide Tipped
  • Pitch: 3/8"
  • Gauge Options: .050", .058", .063"
  • Raker Height: .025" (0.65 mm)
  • Cutter Profile: Full chisel for fast, aggressive cutting
  • Brand: Maya

Applications:

Ideal for cutting:

  • Softwood and medium-density hardwoods (e.g. Mountain Ash, Stringybark, Radiata)
  • Dirty, treated, or burnt timber, demolition wood, and stumps
  • Firewood, storm clean-up, and high-debris environments
⚠️ Not suitable for dense Australian hardwoods.
Avoid use on Ironbark, Grey Box, Red Gum, Turpentine or similar ultra-hard species.
High-impact loads may cause tungsten tips to break or shear the brazed welds.
Tipped carbide chains also cut approximately 20% slower than standard steel chains.
For extreme hardwoods, use a Tsumura laminated carbide chain or a premium steel chain instead.

Sharpening & Maintenance:

  • Use diamond-coated files or discs (150-micron grit recommended) only
  • Maintain factory raker height: .025" (0.65 mm)
  • Apply steady feed pressure—avoid levering or forcing the chain into the cut
  • Stop use when dull—running a blunt carbide chain builds heat and increases risk of tip failure

Custom Sizes Available:

We can supply custom chain loops to suit any bar. If your drive link count is not listed, simply message us and we’ll cut it to length from 100ft rolls.

⚠️ Safety Warning:

This is a non-safety chain with aggressive full-chisel cutters. For use only by experienced chainsaw operators trained in kickback control.

❌ Not Recommended For:

  • High-powered saws (excess torque increases tip failure risk)
  • Dry, dense Australian hardwoods

Brazed carbide tips can detach under extreme loads or shock—select your chain according to timber type and saw power.
