Runout Clearance: This product line is being discontinued once current stock is sold out. Limited remaining stock available.
The Tsumura Hi-Depth is a premium carbide chainsaw chain manufactured in Japan and designed for demanding cutting conditions where conventional steel chain dulls rapidly.
Its unique cutter design features horizontal tungsten carbide capping welded across both sides and the top surface of each cutter for exceptional edge retention, durability and resistance to wear in abrasive timber.
Well suited to dirty timber, burnt logs, storm-damaged trees, roots, hollow timber and general abrasive cutting applications where extended edge life is important.
Important: This chain cuts approximately 15–20% slower than standard steel chain but delivers significantly longer edge life in abrasive cutting conditions.
Key Features
| Pitch | 3/8" |
| Gauge | .063" (1.6mm) |
| Cutter Type | Semi Chisel with horizontal carbide capping |
| Manufacturing Origin | Japan |
| Best Suited For | Dirty, abrasive and contaminated cutting conditions |
Recommended Applications
- Dirty or contaminated timber
- Burnt or fire-affected logs
- Storm debris and property maintenance
- Roots and hollow timber
- Abrasive cutting environments where standard chain dulls quickly
Sharpening & Maintenance
Sharpen only using diamond-coated files or grinding discs.
Carbide chain must be maintained sharp at all times. Running blunt carbide chain generates excessive heat, accelerates chain stretch and increases the risk of carbide cutter damage or breakage.
For best performance, sharpen frequently in abrasive or contaminated timber conditions.
| Clean Green Timber | Approx. 3–4 tanks of fuel between sharpening compared to 1 tank with standard steel chain. |
| Dirty Timber | Approx. 6–8 cuts where standard steel chain may dull after 1–2 cuts. |
| Abrasive Conditions | Regular touch-up sharpening recommended for maximum chain life and cutting performance. |
Important: Regular sharpening and correct maintenance will maximise chain life and cutting performance.
Critical Usage Warnings
- Do not reduce raker height below 0.65mm.
- Do not lever excessively on bumper spikes or dogs while cutting.
- Do not continue operating a blunt chain.
- Avoid direct contact with rocks, metal or foreign objects.
Incorrect use or poor maintenance may result in carbide cutter damage, chain stretch or chain failure.
Safety Warning
This is a professional-use carbide chainsaw chain. Always operate with appropriate safety equipment, training and correct chainsaw setup. Chain is capable of kickback if improperly used.
