Maya .404" Pro-Tipped Carbide Chainsaw Chain .063" Full Chisel & Semi Chisel

Built for long life and dependable performance, the Maya Pro-Tipped Carbide Chain is designed for abrasive or dirty timber where conventional chains dull quickly. Available in .063" gauge in both full chisel and semi chisel cutter styles, each loop features brazed tungsten carbide-tipped cutters for improved wear resistance and reduced sharpening frequency.

The tungsten carbide tip is fused to the leading edge of each cutter for longer edge life in contaminated or abrasive cutting conditions. The .404" pitch is suited to larger saws and heavier-duty cutting applications where durability and chain life are critical.

Key Features:

  • Chain Type: Tungsten Carbide Tipped
  • Pitch: .404"
  • Gauge: .063" (1.6 mm)
  • Cutter Options: Full Chisel and Semi Chisel
  • Raker Height: .025" (0.65 mm)
  • Brand: Maya

Applications:

Ideal for cutting:

  • Softwood and medium-density hardwoods
  • Dirty, treated or burnt timber, demolition wood and stumps
  • Forestry clean-up, dirty firewood processing and high-debris environments

Sharpening & Maintenance:

Sharpen only with diamond-coated files or discs (150-micron grit recommended). Carbide chains are not indestructible and should not be run blunt.

Running a dull carbide chain generates excessive heat, which can weaken the brazed joint, stretch the chain and increase the risk of tip loss or cutter failure. Keeping the chain sharp is critical to cutting performance and service life.

  • Maintain factory raker height: .025" (0.65 mm)
  • Apply steady feed pressure and do not force the chain into the cut
  • Sharpen at the first sign of reduced cutting performance
  • In dirty or abrasive conditions, inspect and sharpen frequently

Sharpening Frequency Guide:

  • Clean timber: typically lasts significantly longer between sharpens than standard steel chain
  • Dirty or abrasive timber: sharpen at least every tank of fuel
  • Burnt timber or heavy debris: inspect often and sharpen more frequently as required

Custom Sizes Available:

We can supply custom chain loops to suit any bar. If your drive link count is not listed, simply message us and weโ€™ll cut it to length from 100ft rolls.

โŒ Critical Usage Warning:

  • Avoid running the chain blunt
  • Do not force the chain through the cut
  • Do not reduce raker height below 0.65 mm
  • Do not use on dense Australian hardwoods

Poor cutting technique or excessive force increases the risk of carbide tip failure or detachment. Select chain according to timber type, saw power and operating conditions.

โš ๏ธ Safety Warning:

This is a non-safety chain with aggressive cutters. For use only by experienced chainsaw operators trained in kickback control.
